INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
During these one on one sessions we deal with the immediate presenting reason for us coming together. I hold a safe and nurturing space, facilitating a connection to understanding oneself within the context of the intention of the session and what you hope to gain from it. This type of counselling can be short-term solution driven, 3-5 sessions should allow some kind of positive shift, be it dealing with a specific life crisis, transition or simply a need for growth and self-acceptance.
This work can be extremely direct and solution based, supplying practical tools that can be used to see immediate, positive results. Or, this can be a more long term gentler approach, dealing with patterning that has been entrenched since childhood, working with breaking negative thought processes that affect our functioning and well-being in the present. This work can go deeper, where we investigate core beliefs that underpin behaviour and habits, to help clear negative ones and allow for healing and growth.
I believe that the ability to accept our emotions and then utilize them to respond to life's challenges, can be one of our greatest resources as human beings. Counselling helps us to learn how to tap into this resource and use it to navigate both our internal and external worlds. Learning to uncover and work with our feelings (emotionally and somatically), means we gain new insights and depths into ourselves, as well as those around us. It means we are able to recognise our own limiting self-beliefs and behavioural patterns and actively work to take care of ourselves in the ways we need most. By understanding our minds, emotions and how we experience emotions locked in our bodies within specific areas, we are able to build deeper relationships with ourselves and others.
I work holistically and intuitively within the entire frame of reference of what makes you you. The aim is for you to find acceptance and a level of peace within, even through life changes, adversity and life stresses without.
