Whose business are you in today?
Mindfulness & meditation practises train our minds to try stay in the present moment in our own reality. Not judging, not arguing, not analysing….just allowing….thoughts to come in and leave our interior world.
When we stop the consistent ruminating about the past (what could have or should have happened), or thinking about the future, what could or should happen), or deciding how others should be behaving, we are no longer in the present right here and right now, where it can be much quieter, calmer and more peaceful.
Arguing with our reality can only make us unhappy. We cannot change our past life experience or necessarily our present reality but, we most certainly can adjust our thoughts and the story we attach to those thoughts and stay in our own business.
Bringing awareness to our thoughts helps us see how these thoughts create an emotional reaction, which we feel somatically in the body, this starts a loop which can affect our behaviour and the outcome of our lives.
By doing this consistent work, changing daily patterns, finding daily routines, can change the neural pathways in the brain to finding a more balanced & healthy reality.
When you are so tired of the story you constantly tell yourself, when you exhaust yourself with being in other peoples business; THIS brings us back to ourselves, in truth and awareness, where we can be grounded in the now, in the knowing.
